Toyota Aurion Pictures

The Toyota Aurion (pronounced or-ree-on) is a mid-size car produced by Toyota in Australia and parts of Asia since 2006. The Aurion, given the model designation XV40 is essentially a Toyota Camry (XV40) with revised front- and rear-end treatment, along with changes to the interior. The Camry-based Aurion is also sold in the majority of East and Southeast Asia as the Toyota Camry, with the original version of the Camry sold alongside the Aurion in Australasia and the Middle East. In the previous two markets, the car replaces the Avalon model, which can trace its roots back to the early 1990s.

In the Australasian and Middle Eastern markets, to further differentiate the Aurion from its Camry sibling, Toyota equips the Aurion exclusively with a 3.5 litre V6 engine. With the Camry, only the 2.4 litre four-cylinder model is offered. Previously in these markets, prior to the introduction of the Camry (XV40), Toyota had offered both four- and a six-cylinder powerplants. Along with the naturally-aspirated version, Toyota also produced an Australia-only supercharged TRD Aurion between 2007 and 2009. Tuned by Toyota Racing Development (TRD), this performance variant was at its release claimed to be the world's most powerful front-wheel drive car

Rolls Royce Phantom Wallpapers

The Phantom is an American adventure comic strip created by Lee Falk, also creator of Mandrake the Magician. A popular feature adapted into many forms of media, including television, film and video games, it stars a costumed crimefighter operating from the fictional African country Bengalla.

The Phantom is the 21st in a line of crimefighters that originated in 1536, when the father of British sailor Christopher Walker was killed during a pirate attack. Swearing an oath to fight evil on the skull of his father's murderer, Christopher started the legacy of the Phantom that would be passed from father to son, leaving people to give the mysterious figure nicknames such as "The Ghost Who Walks", The Man Who Cannot Die and Guardian of the Eastern Dark, believing him to be immortal.

Unlike many fictional costumed heroes, the Phantom does not have supernatural powers of any kind, but relies on his strength, intellect and fearsome reputation of being an immortal ghost to defeat his opponents. The twenty-first Phantom is married to Diana Palmer, whom he met as a child while studying in the US, and the couple have two children together, Kit and Heloise. Like all previous Phantoms he lives in the ancient Skull Cave, and also has a trained wolf, Devil, and the horse Hero.

The series began with a daily newspaper strip on February 17, 1936, followed by a color Sunday strip on May 28, 1939; both are still running as of 2010. At the peak of its popularity, the strip was read by over one hundred million people each day.

Lee Falk continued work on The Phantom until his death in 1999. As of 2010, the comic strip is produced by writer Tony DePaul and artist Paul Ryan. Previous artists on the newspaper strip include Ray Moore, Wilson McCoy, Bill Lignante, Sy Barry, George Olesen, Keith Williams, Fred Fredericks, and Graham Nolan.

New Phantom stories are also published in comic books in different parts of the world, among them by Dynamite Entertainment in USA; Egmont in Sweden, Norway and Finland; and Frew Publications in Australia.

The Phantom is the first fictional hero to wear the skintight costume that has become a hallmark of comic book superheroes, and the first to wear a mask with no visible pupils, another superhero standard.

Porsche Carrera GT Pictures

The development of the Carrera GT can be traced back to its predecessors, the 911 GT1 and LMP1-98 racing cars. Due in part to the FIA and ACO rule changes in 1998, both designs had ended. Porsche at the time had planned on a new Le Mans prototype for 1999. The car was initially intended to use a turbocharged flat-6, but was later redesigned to use a new V10 engine, pushing the project back to planned completion in 2000.

The V10 was a unit secretly built by Porsche for the Footwork Formula One team in 1992, but later shelved. The engine was resurrected for the Le Mans prototype and increased in size to 5.7 litres. Unfortunately the project was canceled after two days of testing for the first car, in mid-1999, mostly due to Porsche's wish to build the Cayenne SUV with involvement from Volkswagen and Audi, thus requiring engineering expertise to be pulled from the motorsports division. It was also speculated that VW-Audi chairman Ferdinand Piëch wanted Audi's new Le Mans Prototype, the Audi R8 not to face competition from Porsche in 2004.

Porsche did keep part of the project alive by using the 5.5 L V10 from the prototype in a concept car shown at the 2000 Geneva Motor Show, mainly in an attempt to draw attention to their display. Surprising interest in the vehicle and an influx of revenue provided from the Cayenne helped Porsche decide to produce the car, and development started on a road-legal version that would be produced in small numbers at Porsche's new manufacturing facility in Leipzig. Porsche started a production run of Carrera GTs in 2004, shipping the units with an MSRP of $440,000 USD and a dealer invoice price of approximately $414,800 USD. In addition, the delivery charge could be as much as $5,000 USD. The first Carrera GT went on sale in the US on January 31, 2004.
Originally a production run of 1,500 cars was planned. But Porsche announced in August, 2005 that it would not continue production of the Carrera GT through 2006, citing discontinuation was due to changing airbag regulations in the US. As of May 6, 2006, 1,270 GT's had been manufactured, with 604 being sold in the United States.

Audi A5 Sportback Wallpapers

Blending coupe good looks, saloon comfort and estate practicality, Audi believes the all-new A5 Sportback has no direct rivals. After months of waiting, we’ve finally been able to find out.

In the metal, the extra set of doors and longer, higher stance mean the Sportback loses some of the coupe’s sporty nature, although the sharp rear-sloping roofline help it to retain a lot of what makes the coupe look so great.

But it’s the amount of extra space Audi has managed to find in the rear that is the Sportback’s biggest acheivement. Head and legroom is now on a par with the A4, and boot space is equally impressive, offering 320-litre, only 10-litres less than the A4 saloon. What’s more, the Sportback matches the A4 with the rear seats folded flat. Plus, thanks to the new clever hatchback boot, it is very easy to load too.

We drove the 2.0-litre TDI, 6-speed manual – the car Audi expects to be its best seller. All the other models will also be available with Audi’s S-tronic transmission. Delivering 168bhp and 350Nm of torque, it’s not hugely powerful and together with long, economy-minded gearing the entry-level diesel is no hot hatch even if a 0-62mph time of 8.7 seconds – only 0.4 seconds slower than the coupe – suggests it’s quicker than it feels.

However, there’s a pay-off at the pumps. Thanks to start-stop technology, regenerative braking, and a gearshift indictor, the 2.0-litre diesel is the most environmentally friendly model in the Sportback line-up, emitting only 137g/km of C02 and returning a very frugal 54.3mpg on the combined cycle.

Both diesel versions are front wheel drive, while the petrols use Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive setup. Steering lacks feel unless under heavy cornering, in which case the Sportback firms up providing a more responsive and rewarding drive.

Although the A5 Sportback we tested is £2,000 more expensive than an A4 saloon and £500 pricier than an A4 Avant, there’s little doubt that it’s a very competent and stylish all-rounder, and a car that should attract lots of new customers to the brand when it goes on sale this October.
